I know this is a way some of you commies like your steaks, but pure blooded Americans are mourning over this headline.

I think I just heard Taps playing as I read this.

20 TONS of not just any steak, but the KING of steaks. The ribeye. And it's a total loss.

The Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District in Doolittle, Missouri, responded to reports of a tractor trailer on fire on Route 174 eastbound early Monday morning, according to fire department officials.

Here's the police rolling up on the grisly scene.

It wasn't a pretty sight (although the smell was probably glorious for a few minutes).

It was probationary firefighter Jenna Ulrich's first fire and she fought it alongside her father, Glenn Ulrich, even though Jenna is a vegan, according to the Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District ...

'Nothing says ‘welcome to the fire service' like sending the probie to put out 40,000 pounds of flaming ribeye!' fire officials said in a statement on social media. 'Probationary Firefighter Jenna Ulrich is the only vegan on our department -- so naturally, her very first fire involved a tractor trailer carrying 40,000 pounds of ribeye steak.'

They sent a vegan to quell the flames? At least she was emotionally distant from the trauma, although it might have kept her from doing what was necessary to save the steak.

In the end, it was all consumed. Every last morsel of delicious beef, wasted.
