These Colorado deputies were called in to deal with a home intruder. A bobcat had slipped into a home and taken up residence behind a potted plant.
(Which, you have to admit, is exactly what a regular house cat would have done.)
So, the detectives decided to deal with the bigger cat in the same way and use the lasers on the end of their tasers to lure it out of the house.
‘Hi, kitty kitty,' the deputy says. ‘I'm gonna see if he chases the laser. I don't know, cats like lasers.'
‘It's not a normal cat,' the homeowner responds.
‘Cats are all the same! They all like the same thing,' the deputy says.
Unfortunately, the deputies forgot one other thing cats like to do.
Ignore your very existence.
Which is exactly what the bobcat in the house did.
Eventually it got bored of the humans trying to play with it and walked over to the back door of its own volition. The deputies didn't relay how many times the bobcat went in and out before settling on staying out, but you know it was more than once.
If it were me, I would have skipped the laser pointer, and thrown an empty box into the room.
No cat can resist a box. No cat.
