On Tuesday night, everyone wondered if Iran was about to go super saiyan:
At the same time, Trump was posting that the U.S. knows where Iran's supreme leader is and that we have control of the skies.
This led to a bunch of stressed out people on the internet who were "monitoring the situation."
Well, the "nothing ever happens" lads were right, because I went to bed and woke up and Iran had literally done nothing that was worth remembering for "centuries."
Pro-Iranian accounts claimed Iran's big surprise was the use of a Fattah-1 hypersonic missile, which can adjust its trajectory during reentry and achieve speeds over Mach 13. This makes it difficult for interceptor missiles used by Israel's "Iron Dome" to stop.
But the footage from Israel looked no different than previous nights:
[Warning: Explosions]
Newsweek confirmed that Iran claimed to have used hypersonic missiles at Tel Aviv on Tuesday night. The use of more advanced missiles does pose an issue for Israel, which is reportedly running low on interceptor missiles.
I found a number of slightly different translations of a statement by Iran's military. Here is one of the best renditions to English:
The eleventh wave of the proud Operation True Promise 3 was launched using the first-generation Fattah hypersonic missiles — marking the beginning of the end for the Zionist army's so-called legendary air defenses. We congratulate the commanders and the devoted warriors of the IRGC Aerospace Force for this moment of honor.
Okay ... so you guys used a few expensive, mid-tier hypersonic missiles that barely have the range to hit Israel.
I WAS PROMISED A SURPRISE FOR THE CENTURIES, IRAN!!!
You guys had so many options to wow us, but you went with the "slightly more advanced projectile"?
Sad!
