It's always fun, when two intractable wings of leftism collide, to wager on which side is going to come out on top.
And as the Guardian reports, it's anybody's bet in the Thunderdome down in Brazil this week:
A row over the definition of the term "gender" threatens to bog down pivotal talks at the Cop30 climate summit.

It seems that there are efforts afoot to "ensure climate action addresses gender inequality and empowers women." But since "gender" itself is a stupid, meaningless term in this context, there are apparently some hitches in getting there:
In the climate negotiations, gender talks aim to address men's and women's different experiences of climate change, and countries have interpreted the discussions based on their national laws and cultural contexts. ...
In preparatory talks for Cop30, Argentina and Paraguay requested the inclusion of footnotes in an informal note on the state of the negotiations to clarify their understanding of gender as referring to the female and male sexes.
Javier Milei erasing references to "gender" on climate documents like:

One advocate claimed that the "attempt to impose a narrow definition of gender is a way to stall the negotiations, to burden the process and block more ambitious conversations." (I'm not sure if that's the case, but I'm here for it if so!)
In reality, of course, the "gender" debate is purely an ideological one, meant to prop up the poisonous and destructive ideology of transgenderism. So whatever fair means we can use to excise it from polite conversation is fine with me.
But the people who have invested years in the gender fantasy are not going to give this up very easily:
'As women, we are not all the same,' said [Lorena Aguilar]. 'In some countries, gender-responsive climate action is the difference between living and dying.' ...
By 2050, climate change may push up to 236 million more women and girls into food insecurity compared with 131 million more men and boys, according to UN Women.
Even assuming that's true, I have one simple word that activists can use instead of "gender" to clear this whole debate up:
