New Jersey man Buzzy Levine put out the word that a thief had stolen two mandolins from his vintage guitar store Lark Street Music.

Buzzy shared video to Facebook in an attempt to get folks to help find the man.

Here's a clip from ABC where they've considerately blurred out the criminal's face, so no one will recognize him and get him in, uh, treble.

The man reportedly had a Montenegrin accent and stole a Gibson F-12 and a Webber Yellowstone.

But just a few days later, the man showed back up in the store and left the two mandolins in shopping bags with a hand-written note on graph paper, which read:

SORRY, I BEEN DRUNK, MERRY CHRISTMAS You are good man.

He ducked out as soon as he dropped off the bags and note. Clearly, the thief was hoping to get off with no strings attached, but then the store owner tried to catch him anyway.

I ran up to the door and saw him running down the street so summoning all my feet fleetness I took off after him. Not so smart, I lost him, called 911 and they are in pursuit.

There isn't any news on whether the thief has been captured, but the owner is happy to get his merchandise back.

Your re-posts and pressure definitely made him realize the walls were closing in. Thank you all!!! I feel like i'm in a TV movie.
