The whirlwind of Epstein news keeps spinning. After the Wall Street Journal published a "bombshell" report about President Trump sending a "bawdy" letter to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003, Trump retaliated by not only pledging to sue the WSJ and Rupert Murdoch, but also ordering Attorney General Pam Bondi to immediately release all related grand jury testimony files.
This order from Trump, as would be expected, set off a firestorm of reactions on social media:
We'll come back to that last one.
But first, according to Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, this was not some spur-of-the-moment thing, but has been in the works:
So, for those keeping score, we've gone from the Trump team campaigning on releasing the Epstein files to Pam Bondi saying they were "on her desk for review" to influencers posing with white binders labeled "Epstein Files" to the DOJ and FBI saying there were no Epstein files to Trump calling the Epstein files a hoax to a sketchy Wall Street Journal "bombshell" letter to Trump suing the WSJ to Trump now ordering Bondi to release all Epstein-related grand jury testimony.
But you'll notice that Trump said "subject to Court approval." You'll also note that the attorney general said she will "move the court tomorrow." Both Trump and Bondi are being precise with wording here, as Morgan above noted.
Both of them know the court might deny their motion, meaning this could simply be an effort to get the heat off the White House.
Friday could be an exciting day. 👇
