Apple finally removed the ICEBlock app from the App Store.
(And, no, that's not an app that Pope Leo used earlier this week.)
ICEBlock and other apps track ICE agents' movements and "warn" illegal aliens when the cops are near. The Trump administration has called for the apps to be taken down for months.
The apps allowed the shooter who attacked an ICE facility in Dallas last month to track officers.
That seems to finally have convinced Apple, which previously had no problem deplatforming right-leaning apps like Parler at the drop of a pin, to remove the apps from its official App Store.
Apple removed ICEBlock and other Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) tracking apps from its store Thursday, citing law enforcement concerns about the 'safety risks' the apps posed ...
'We created the App Store to be a safe and trusted place to discover apps,' Apple said in a statement provided to The Post.
Here's more from Apple to the NY Post:
'Based on information we've received from law enforcement about the safety risks associated with ICEBlock, we have removed it and similar apps from the App Store,' the tech giant said.
It took ICE agents almost being killed for the App Store to take down the hunt down and kill federal agents app.
There's no sign yet that the Google Play Store for Android phones is going to drop the ICE tracking websites, but this move from Apple does turn up the pressure.
