Yo, at present this is a rumor, but I'm taking Christopher McDonald at his word here.
Listen to this interview, and remember, Adam Sandler is very much still in the business of making quality films:
I saw Adam [Sandler] about two weeks ago and he says, 'McDonald, you're going to love this.' I said, 'what.' 'how about that!' He turns and shows me the first draft of "Happy Gilmore 2."

Seriously can't wait for this. I mean, you don't show Shooter McGavin a draft of "Happy Gilmore 2" if you're not going to produce the film.
Speaking of not producing the film, here's me if Adam Sandler somehow scraps the project:
I know deep down that he won't.
This will happen and I'm lining up for the midnight showing of this bad boy.
