Don't bother checking your calendars. You didn't slip into a time warp. It's still 2025.

It's just that some people don't realize we're half a decade past this.

In May of 2025, five years after the death of the lefties' patron saint of fentanyl, George Floyd, Minnesota has decided to celebrate once again with his cartoonish mural.

And this is to ... help the country heal?

The colorful mural, which contains the names of others killed by police officers in recent years, has since [2020] attracted visitors from all over the world.

It will likely become a destination for many more this week as the city prepares to mark the 5-year anniversary of Floyd's murder.

Yes, the city is making plans for the five-year anniversary of the death of George Floyd, which sparked off riots that took numerous lives, cost millions of dollars, and did incalculable damage to the nation. They're celebrating it like the anniversary of Pearl Harbor or something.

The intersection of 38th and Chicago Ave where Floyd was killed, now known as George Floyd Square, continues to struggle.

Neighbors are frustrated with violent crime.

Business owners are frustrated with stalled plans to re-develop the area.

But like in 2020, the mural has endured.

Amazing.

So the area hasn't recovered from the riots after 5 years ... but they're still going to continue to keep the mural up as a reminder of what destroyed the city.

The comments are wonderful. Enjoy.
