I'm a sucker for videos of intoxicated individuals speaking to police while being arrested, but when it's a Democratic candidate for governor in South Carolina it just hits that much harder.

Just amazing content!
That video was taken in May in Charleston, so it's not very old at all. William Mullins McLeod's arrest was for public disorderly conduct.
The South Carolina Democratic Party is now, understandably, urging McLeod to exit the race.

McLeod's campaign says the arrest was "unlawful," and that the footage was released to damage his reputation.
I mean, it damages the man's reputation, alright, but was that really why it was released?
The local ABC News outlet tells us about the 35-minute video:
In the police footage, McLeod mentions names such as former President Barack Obama, Attorney General Alan Wilson, President Donald Trump, Charlie Condon, and Charleston businessman Ben Navarro.
Of Wilson, a Republican rival who is also running to be South Carolina's next governor, McLeod threatens to 'kick his teeth in' before rambling on.
He also mentions kicking "Nancy's" teeth in, which probably is in reference to South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace.
The New York Post reports that McLeod was only in his underwear and at one point used the n-word in the video.
South Carolina hasn't had a Democratic governor since Nikki Haley Jim Hodges served from 1998-2003, and it doesn't look like they'll get one in 2026 if this guy somehow makes it through the primary (he is the first Democrat to enter the race, and we'll assume he'll be the first to exit here shortly).
Here's a longer video of the interaction. He goes on a pretty silly rant against "Nancy" and Trump about halfway through (8:30) and it's very, very entertaining.
