This is a real thing that happened in Baltimore recently:
The officer, Robert A. Parks, who has been a member of Baltimore PD since 2020, has now been suspended.

Baltimore City's police commissioner, Richard Worley, said something completely wild in response.
From CBS News:
'First, I saw it, I thought it was AI, I honestly did,' Worley said. 'I thought, because you can do so many things with AI. We had to make sure the video was real.'

Of course, the man being chased (and his friend) claim to have done nothing wrong. The officer apparently told them to move from where they were hanging out.
The officer is now working in an administrative capacity while the department completes an investigation.
Worley had some more-serious words about the incident:
'The best thing we can do is what we've been doing, which is be transparent. We saw it. We don't like it. We did something about it. We suspended the officer, and we're going to hold the officer accountable for his actions.'
...
'It's just egregious,' Worley said. 'That's not what we teach our officers to do. It's not what we want our officers doing, and it's going to damage our relationship with the community, which is the thing that we're trying to build up the most.'
Baltimore Police Department has been under federal monitoring for eight years, and this incident probably won't help them get out from under it.
