The gun grabbers on the Left who loved Bobby Kennedy until just over a year ago are losing their actual minds (they are all on SSRIs, after all).

I certainly consider mass shootings a health crisis and we are doing -for the first time - real studies to find out what the etiology of that is. And we're looking for the first time at psychiatric drugs.

You know these kinds of mass shootings - people have had guns in this country forever. When I was kid we had shooting clubs in our school ... there has never been a time in the history of humanity when people walked into a crowd, a church, or a movie theater, or a school, and just started randomly shooting. It's happening in our country. It's not happening around the world. And there are many other countries that have comparable levels of guns that we have in this country ...

Something changed that dramatically changed human behavior and one of the culprits that we need to examine is whether the fact that we are the most overmedicated nation in the world - and a lot of those are psychiatric drugs that have black box warnings on them - those warnings of homicidal and suicidal ideation.

We are doing those studies for the first time, and we will have the answer.

The replies:

Now for someone who looks just like the lady in that GIF, Minnesota Senator Tina Smith. 👇

I think the families of the dead would actually be very happy to hear that RFK is digging into the drugs that make people go crazy and turn homicidal.

From 2015:

And a 2017 study in the British Medical Association's BMJ publication:

Now fast-forward two years from that point.

In 2019, 43 million Americans had a SSRI prescription. That's ONE IN EIGHT, even though one study found they are only 15% more effective than sugar pills, perhaps because the chemical imbalance theory of depression is under serious scrutiny.

SSRIs (to say nothing of stronger drugs) can cause all sorts of effects, from personality changes to tremors to low libido to abject terrors the mind can hardly conceive.

And yet from 2020 to 2024, the number of kids on on SSRIs rose almost 65%, with use among teen girls rising 130%.

Maybe Tina and her gun-grabbing friends should consider that data before they repeat the line that the guns are the problem.
