Facts might not care about your feelings, but we live in a world where people put feelings over facts.
In that kind of environment, people believe whatever it is that their itching ears want to believe, even if they are following charlatans and propagandists (2 Timothy 4:3-4, Isaiah 30:10-11, Matthew 13:15, Jeremiah 5:30-31, Zechariah 7:11, Deuteronomy 29:2-4). When people have been conditioned their whole lives by Disney to "follow their hearts," they won't be dissuaded by facts.
The best way to counter them is by shifting their framework. Rhetorical traps can be avoided through, well, rhetoric (Matthew 22:15-46).
This question is a helpful starting point to cut through all grifts, psy-ops, and propaganda:
"By what standard?"
