So this video has been circulating on social media recently, and it honestly looks pretty bad at first glance. Will McNeil Jr., the driver who was pulled over, posted it on social media with this caption:

[Warning: All versions of this video are slightly graphic]

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded with this statement:

And here's Sheriff T.K. Waters:

Now, since my gut tells me to take the side of the innocent man, regardless of his race, let's take a look at the full interaction:

Now, does that look like an innocent man who was simply punched (he was actually slapped) in the face by Jacksonville Police?

I'll let you be the judge.

Here's more context from CBS News (I will note that the police report says he also had a knife):

McNeil was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as resisting an officer without violence, according to the arrest report. He pleaded guilty to and was adjudicated guilty of resisting a police officer without violence and driving on a suspended driver's license, Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters said.
