If democratic socialism is the future of the Democratic Party, then why are Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries -- both representing New York in Congress -- so hesitant to endorse Zohran Mamdani?
The election is in 43 days, and yet still no endorsement, which says a lot..
And...
Could this be because Schumer is a Democrat of the past, desperately clinging to the status quo? Is "AIPAC Shakur" (Jeffries) out of touch with the modern Democratic Party? Possibly, they know endorsing Mamdani, a democratic socialist with some interesting worldviews, would hurt Democrats in the mid-terms next year.
In Schumer's case, there's always this:

Either way, from what I hear, regular Democrats are fed up with both Chuck and Hakeem, so it might actually work in Mamdani's favor if he doesn't get an endorsement from them (sigh).
